Douglas C. Barlow, 73, of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, with his family at his side. Doug was a cherished husband and family man who was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Kelley. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Pam; his daughter, Kristi; his grandson, Vaughan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Doug moved to Birmingham, Ala., the year Bear Bryant moved to Tuscaloosa to coach at the University of Alabama and, much to his family's chagrin, his love and support of the Bear and his Tide never wavered. Doug moved to Baton Rouge in 1974 as a founding member of Process Services Inc. (PSI) and enjoyed his work family there for approximately 20 years as a vice president. Work was never work for Doug, as he enjoyed it so much and he thrived in helping others, especially giving young men an opportunity to start a career in the engineering field. He was a leader in the business world, was a civic leader and, most of all, he was the man with answers for his family. Doug was an active member of Fairwood Country Club for more than 30 years, finding joy on the tennis courts and making ridiculous bets on the golf course. He loved to travel with Pam and friends to golf, gamble and laugh. A good ole country boy at heart, he always made it a priority to make a better life for his children, affording them every opportunity for success. A more loyal friend you could not find and his dry wit and uncompromising nature will be missed. Please join his family in honoring the life that was filled with so much love. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. until service at 12:30 p.m.
