Dorothy Smith

Dorothy Chisholm Smith, 82, died at 8:00 am Friday, October 12th, 2012 at her home in Denham Springs, LA. A native of Utica, Mississippi, she loved to play bingo but her greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving son JB Smith; her sister, Berta Jean Hughes; and brother, Clyde Chisholm. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Susan Hymel and her husband Arthur (Peanut), Denham Springs; daughter-in- law, Linda Smith, Central; five grandchildren, Jeremy Smith and wife Stacey, Amy Hebert and husband Kevin, Allison Dees and significant other Gary Wintz, Kristi Smith and fiancé Tirk Bouzigard, JB Smith and wife Jade; nine great grandchildren, Michael Carles, Jacob and Alexandra Smith, Alaina, Alissa, Kaitlyn, and Kaden Hebert, Ann-Adaire Dees and Marlie Smith. Visitation at Green Oaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 5pm until 8 pm and resume on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 12pm until service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Special thanks are extended to Hospice Compassus staff, especially nurses Gina Morgan and Betty Dixon for their outstanding efforts in providing care.
