Dorothy was a retired realtor with Century 21. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Pike County, MS. Dorothy died at 8:45am Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her daughter's residence in Matthews, North Carolina. She was 79. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Sunday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at 9:00am Monday until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00am, conducted by Rev. Leo Miller. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Dorothy was survived by her daughters: Linda Hibbetts&husband Keith, and Brenda Efferson&husband William; sons: Darryl Farris&wife Melissa, and Warren Farris, Jr., and Gary Farris; brothers: Dewain Rhodus&wife Mary Ann, Ronald Rhodes&wife Brenda, Wendell Rhodus&wife Wanda, and Gordon Rhodes&wife Dee; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Warren L. Farris, Sr.; father: Floyd Rhodes; mother: Mamie Rhodus; great-grandson: Kyle Farris. Pallbearers will be Dylan Farris, Tom Hibbetts, William Farris, Andrew Farris, Steven Farris and Brandon Farris. Dorothy was a graduate of Holden High School and was an active choir member of First Baptist Church of Denham Springs.
