Dorothy Jean Browning Wallace passed away on March 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 31, 1930 in Bryant, MS and was a long time resident of Greenwell Springs, LA. Dorothy was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. She worked for the EBRP Assessor’s Office for nearly 30 years where she eventually retired.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Steve Browning (Sandra) of Greenville, SC and Jeff Browning (Laura) of Greenwell Springs, LA; two grandchildren, Cari Browning Warfel (Jaycob) of Southaven, MS and Sara Browning of Baton Rouge, LA; along with three great-grandchildren, Sophia Warfel, John Warfel and Hannah Warfel.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Browning; second husband, Van Wallace; parents, William and Ida Mae LaCook; seven sisters, Lillie Mae Norwood, Gladys Patterson, Mary Frances LaCook, Sue LaCook, Margaret Clay, Ruth Miller and Eleanor Jones; brother, James LaCook; and grandson Eric Browning.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge from 11AM until 12PM; with service beginning at 12PM officiated by Scott Graham. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be George Miller Jr., Howard Tull, Jaycob Warfel, John Warfel, Gaspar Corpora and Parker Corpora.
