A native of Donaldsonville and resident of Baton Rouge passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2012, at the age of 90. She was the eighth child born to Louis L. and Maria O. LeBlanc. She graduated from Donaldsonville High School and later from Hotel Dieu Nursing School in 1943 following her older sister, Corinne. She started her career in a local doctor’s office, moved to be an industrial nurse, and ended her career as a nurse in the Ascension Parish School System. Her hobbies included playing bridge, sewing, and spending time with her friends and family. She spent 44 years with her husband, Lloyd LeBlanc, and spent the last nine years of his life nursing him. She was loved and cherished by her nieces and nephews and will truly be missed by them and all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2012, from 9 AM until the funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Donaldsonville. She is survived by her two brothers, Billy LeBlanc and Louis Boo LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews, especially her godchild, Maria Truxillo Prochaska. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Corinne Gately Spedden, Grace Truxillo, and Maria Louise LeBlanc; and brothers, Edward Ned, Clyde, Richard, and Percy LeBlanc.
