Dora Lee Rice Lawton Brown

"Dora passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017 in Baton Rouge. She was a resident of St. Francisville and was retired from Ethyl Corporation. Born in Pointe Coupee Parish in McCrea, LA. on September 10, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vione Rice, her first husband John Edward "Jack" Lawton, sister Norma Brooks, brother Hilton Rice and grandson Jesse "Jed" Lawton. She is survived by her husband E. Leo Brown, son Richard "Dickie" Lawton and wife Tanya, stepchildren Cheri Decoux and husband Michael, Keith Brown and wife Jan and T.W. Brown and wife Faye, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-children, sister Margie Hymel and husband Cecil and brother-in-law Wilburn Brooks. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22 at St. Paul's Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (607 E. Main Street, New Roads, LA. 70760). Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am with services at 11:00 am officiated by the Rev. Peggy Scott and the Rev. Don Brown. A very special thanks to the staff of the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet emergency room, ICU and 6th floor medical teams for their care and to the Pointe Coupee Healthcare facility for their care during her stay.
