A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Denise Mire Cole, 62, a native of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Denise was born on December 31, 1960. She graduated from Redemptorist High School in the class of 1978 then started her career with The City of Baton Rouge. She worked for various departments throughout her 32 years of service, including the Mayor’s Office and the Director’s Office of the Department of Public Works before becoming the Director of the 311 Call Center until retirement. After retiring, she went back to work at Capital Valve for a few short years before becoming a full time Gigi and spending her days with her grandkids. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Michael Cole, and daughters, Brittany LeBlanc (Clay) and Emily McCants (Trey); and her sister, Phyllis Entremont (Charles, Jr.); her five grandchildren, Reece McCants, Grant LeBlanc, Emmitt McCants, Maisyn LeBlanc and Adley McCants. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Mire; sisters, Betty Lyons, Patricia Haley and Mimi Paxton; and mother and father in-law, Joe and Vera Cole. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm and continues on Tuesday from 12pm until services at 2pm with burial following in Greenoaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Quentin Cole, Mark Clayton, Lambert Weisse, Jimmy Dean Patin, Scottie Lyons and Clay LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Entremont, III and Trey McCants.
