David Randolph Williams Jr., 72, died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at his home after a fight with colon cancer. Mr. Williams, a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, served his community as a multi-line insurance claims adjuster for 46 years, the last 23 years as owner of Williams Claim Service, an independent insurance adjusting firm in Baton Rouge. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Marie Titard Williams; four children, David R. Williams III, Kelly W. Stewart, Sharon W. Leahy and Douglas L. Williams, and their spouses, Marina Z. Williams, Byron Stewart, Christopher Leahy and Tammy R. Williams; three grandchildren, Holley and Elizabeth Stewart and Jillian Williams; a brother, Thomas Hill Williams; and a sister, Norma Jean Williams. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, David Randolph Williams Sr. and Anna Kuchler Williams, who were both of New Orleans. Mr. Williams was a 1953 graduate of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans and a 1957 graduate of LSU. Visitation and rosary service at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., was on Friday, July 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Saturday, July 28, at 12:30 p.m. Following Mass, interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery, North Street in Baton Rouge. Donations to the McMains-Children's Developmental Center would be appreciated.
