Mr. Reynolds graduated from LSU in 1959 and was recruited as an electrical engineer by Tennessee Valley Authority where he received many awards and retired after 44 years. He was a member of the National Society of Electrical Engineers.
He received a Bachelor of Song (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A) from the Harmony College and was Barbershopper of the Year in 1976. He traveled all over the world with two different Barbershop Quartets and was a member of the Chattanooga Chorus.
While living in Chattanooga, the rest of his family enjoyed many visits with him and affectionately fought over his time when he came back home.
David was an avid LSU fan and traveled with his brother and sister to an away game for many years.
He was a member of Church of the Way Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge and served as a corporal in the US Army.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Lewis and Robert P. Reynolds; two brothers, Robert Reynolds and Joseph Pearson Reynolds and one sister, Violet M. Price.
He is survived by his brother, Earl Reynolds of Prairieville, LA; three sisters, Daisy R. Lebeau of Baton Rouge, LA, Rosemary R. Lewis of Oscar, LA and Mary A. Suydam of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great niece and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations be made to: American Parkinson Disease Association-135 Parkinson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10305.
The family would like to thank Med Pass, Amber Terrace, Veronica Walker, Ian Lusens and Joyce George and Mrs. Earl Hutton. A very heartful thank you to his caregivers, Christopher Coleman, Dexter Cowart and Bobby Brown.
Services will be 11:00am Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Church of the Way Presbyterian-250 S Foster Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 where Rev. Ted and Judy Roeling will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00am to service time at the church. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park-9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
Pallbearers will be: Patrick Reynolds, Bill Suydam, III, Johnny Lewis, Tom LeBeau, Chad F. Reynolds, Christopher Coleman, Andrew Reynolds and Dexter Cowart. Honorary pallbearers will be Aidan C. Reynolds, Earl Reynolds, Randy Price, Gary Price, John Lewis and Tom Keegan.
