David C. Blouin, Sr. passed peacefully into God’s graces in his Baton Rouge home on April 23, 2022 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. David was born in New Orleans on November 8, 1948 to the late Joseph Earl Blouin, Sr. and Jean Conner Blouin. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Deborah Copeland Blouin and his two children, David Conner Blouin, Jr. and Amy Blouin Romaguera (Michael Romaguera, Jr.). In addition, he is survived by his two grandchildren, David Conner Blouin, III and Everett Hugh Blouin. David lived a full life growing up in the Greater New Orleans area. He is was a graduate of Jesuit High School where he then attended Baylor University, and later achieved his Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University. Post-graduation, LSU was quick to bring David onto their faculty which was a true sign of his talents to be hired by the same University to which he achieved his Doctorate Degree. David completed a 47-Year career at LSU serving various roles such as a professor, consultant, and Dean of Department. When not focused on his career, David had a true passion for the waters of the Gulf Coast. From his youth, he was taught by his father to sail, and was a competitive racer representing Southern Yacht Club in numerous events. He instilled his competitive sailing talents into his children which has now even been passed down to his grandchildren. David was in a truly happy place when he was on or by the water. David Conner Blouin, Sr. was an authentic man who always did things his way. He will be sorely missed, but he is with God now, free of pain and suffering.
