David K. Bankston, Sr., 63, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013. A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a 1968 graduate of Chamberlin Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, MS and a member of Jimmy Swaggert Ministries. He was a self-employed contractor and co-owner of Trans-Gulf Constructors of Baton Rouge. He retired from Pipefitters Local 198. He is survived by his wife Dale Bankston; sons: David K. Bankston, Jr. and wife Theresa, Jason Bankston, and Brooks Warren Jr.; daughters: Sydney Pinchera and husband Adam, and Vickie Stanley; sister Wynette McDonald; step-father Richard Dando; step-brother Rob Dando and wife Mary; step-sister Betsy Spangler and husband Richard; grandsons: Sidney James Bankston, Truett Bankston, and Brennan Warren; granddaughters: Brooke Stanley, Samantha Bankston, and Natalie Aptaker; nephews: Troy McDonald and wife Stephanie, and Ronnie McDonald and wife Marilyn. He is preceded in death by his parents: Truett Bankston and Barbara Kirby Dando; and great nephew Zachary McDonald. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 3:00pm at Christ’s Community Church, 8139 Florida Boulevard, Denham Springs, LA 70726. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David’s honor to the American Heart Association.
