

Daniel Paul Ducote was born on August 28, 1940, in Plaucheville, Louisiana, and passed from this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the age of 82. He was a long time resident of Baton Rouge, and served as a Louisiana State Trooper for 20+ years.
Daniel is preceded in death by parents Clemile Ducote and Mercedes “Dez” Lemoine, sister Sadie Hairford, brothers Nolan Ducote and Harris Ducote, sister Hattie Saucier, beloved wife Tommie Ducote, and great-grandson Cason Ducote.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and JP Ducote, Dan and Andrea Ducote, and Chad and Amanda Ducote; seven grandchildren: Colten Ducote, Kyle Ducote, Erica Hutson, Dustin Ducote, Nathan Ducote, Grace Ducote, and Aiden Ducote; and five great-grandchildren: Landry Ducote, Gentry Hutson, Cam Ducote, Kinley Ducote, and Colton Ducote.
Daniel “PawPaw” Ducote was a father among fathers. A quiet but strong, family man who loved deeply, and in return, was deeply loved. He was a constant fixture in each of his children’s lives and lived to spoil his grandchildren. He leaves a legacy of honor that we are proud to carry on in his name.
Memorial services will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Baton Rouge on Saturday, February 11, 2023, with visitation from 1:30pm-5pm, and service at 5pm with a burial service on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 9:30am.
