There are so many great memories that we will all hold dear. His beloved wife, Tommie, our (David, Jackie and Linda) beautiful sister, had a wonderful life with Dan and loved him with ALL of her heart. Dan was like a big brother to us all. He never met a stranger, always had a smile that would light up your day. 

A huge whole was left in our hearts when we lost Tommie and it feels the same now that we have lost Dan.

Our very deepest sympathy and love to all of Dan's family. May God bless all of you with comfort at this very difficult time. 🙏💓

My favorite memories of my Pawpaw Daniel was at the False River camp. We went on several boat rides and checking the fish traps. There was always laugher going on when I went over to his house. He was a calm and quiet man. He didn’t say much at family events, he just loved having his family around. He always made sure there was plenty of food and my favorite cream soda. He was also a jokester. I had made dressing for the first time for Thanksgiving. My one and only goal was to impress him. When he took his first bite he said, “ehh…who made this?” My heart sank. I thought to myself, I just ruined Thanksgiving dinner. We locked eyes and he 
stared laughing and then he hugged me.

 Thank you Pawpaw for always being there. Thank you for loving and praying for my son, Gentry. I’m thankful you was able to witness some of Gentry’s accomplishments. I’m glad you was able to hear him say, “ I love you, Pawpaw Daniel!” I know that meant the world to you. 
I love you and I’m going to miss you, Pawpaw Daniel! 

I am so thankful to the Lord for PawPaw Daniel .
We have all been blessed by him , he was so good to all of us . I treasure all the precious times we got to spend with him . He was a wonderful Father to us and Pawpaw to his grandchildren . He shared the camp with us and so many other good times at his home . He loved us coming to visit him and he loved to cook for us , he loved to feed us and enjoyed just being together, he loved taking us for rides on the party barge . He spoiled his grandchildren , he always had cream soda for them to drink and their favorite foods to eat. Pawpaw Daniel we love you and  we are going to miss you so much! 

My Dad

My dad was my hero, mentor, and teacher. He taught me to be a man of integrity, honest, loyal, hard working, and a family provider.

My dad was a kind and gentle soul that everyone loved. All of my childhood neighborhood friends loved my dad. He was the little league head baseball coach to many of them.

My dad was also loved by my teenage friends, most of them called him Sarge.

When my dad was moved to another room in the hospital there were nurses that came from the other wing from where he was to come visit him, even the nurses loved my dad

My dad was loved by my wife and children. Gentry, my dad loved you and he never missed an opportunity to tell me about a conversation he had with Doug’s wife about how Gentry would be talking in a year. My dad told me that story many many times and I believe he was prophesying into your future.

My dad loved Mia, I can hear him right now saying “Mi Mi what you doing Mi Mi”.

My dad loved to cook for us and have us over to his house or camp on False River. When we were all there no one was happier than my dad.

My dad loved when I would call him over to eat at my house, he never turned me down for an invitation. 

My dad and I would go eat breakfast on Friday mornings, I would ask him where he wanted to go, he always said it don’t matter you pick it, he never turned me down for an invitation. 

Recently a close friend of mine ask me “ Does he ever get upset” without hesitation I said “ Never”, my dad was laid back, cool, calm.

He was a sweetheart of a man, you are going to be dearly missed, PawPaw Daniel, Buddy-Roe, My Dad, I love you. 

Dan Ducote

One time when I was 4 or 5 we went to a race track. I liked one horse and Booboo bet on it for me, surprisingly we won and Booboo tried to give me the money and it is now in my college savings.

Dan was a very good man. I enjoyed my time with him at La State Police. He was competent in any assignment. He had a great sense of humor. He will be missed. I pray for his family during this time of loss and sadness.

Your dad, lived a full life, and all of you enjoyed & shared so many wonderful memories with him, along with is “Cajun” heritage.  Also, with his “wonderful” brother’s and sister’s, including all the niece’s & nephew’s.
I 🙏 all of your 💕’s will find comforted  and may all of you find peace as his is laid to rest.
