Cory was a 30 year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department. Cory retired as a Lieutenant after years of dedication, continuing to share his expertise as a consultant for the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. His cheerful yet direct approach impacted many lives across the state. Cory loved to cook and took every opportunity to cater to friends and family alike while also fishing and boating with family in Dulac.
Cory is survived by his wife Melissa Lively Reech, his stepdaughter Jordan Alexandra Armstrong (Terrell Stubbs), grandchildren Colt, Hudson and Gideon and his longtime canine companion schnauzer, Molly. He is also survived by his brothers Greg and wife Donna, Michael, Joel and wife Mary Ann, Chris and wife Emily, sister Rene’ (Ron Adams) along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Cory is preceded in death by his father, Elster Ray Reech; his mother Monaca Barcelona Reech; and his nephew Timothy Daniel Reech.
Pallbearers will be Cory’s nephews and his fellow task force officers of the Baton Rouge Police Department.
There will be visitation at Rabenhorst on Government on Friday January 5th from 5PM to 8PM. Visitation before the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 10:30AM to 11:30AM Saturday January 6th with Mass following. Interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Baton Rouge, LA.
