"Colleen was born October 31, 1929 in her Baton Rouge family home. She passed away at the age of 88 on September 20, 2018 in her Madisonville home where she was a long-term resident. She was a dedicated, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Colleen was a very special person to the entire family and will be missed beyond words. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School, co-owner of Collier Fire Equipment Co. on Mohican Street for 20 years. She then switched paths and founded Collier Real Estate Company in 1971. She joined the Woman's Council of Realtors, Baton Rouge Chapter in which she held many elected office positions and in 1978, while serving as State Vice President, she received the Baton Rouge "Woman of the Year" award. Colleen also ran a successful Bowling center, Pontchartrain Lanes, in Slidell before moving to Madisonville to start up yet another new venture, Madisonville Boat Yard for 15 years of successful business. Colleen's favorite time in her career was the time she spent as a reporter for the local paper, The Newsbanner. She was a passionate writer and loved talking about history and even co-authored a book, St. Tammany Then and Now. She never slowed down, she kept up with technology, staying up all night on Facebook chatting with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Clinton Stockwell and Irene Marie Walker; her siblings J. Walker, Irene Marie, Marjorie Gayle, and John Gordon Stockwell, her son Michael D. Collier (2005), her first husband, Oscar L. Collier Jr. (2011), and her second husband MSgt. (Ret.) Richard A. Fields (2017). Survivors include: her son, David Louis Collier; her daughter, Linda Ellison Brown (husband Barry); her grandchildren, Elizabeth "Buffie" Clarke, Alison Bradley (husband Kevin), Julianne Collier, Rebecca Bergeron (husband Brant), Gabe Collier, Erin Ellison, Patrick Ellison, and her granddaughter she raised as her daughter, Katherine Collier-Royston (husband Cliff) ; as well as her great-grandchildren, Maxon and Ryan Bradley, and Brailyn, Emmie, and Vivi Bergeron. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, September 27th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A memorial tree planting service will be held in Madisonville at the family home in mid-October.
