I just learned of Clay's death today and I am so very sorry. Even though I have not seen Clay in years, I will never forget him or you.  He was about the nicest man I have ever met. Joyce, I  remember when Clay would come in the Bridal Boutique at the end of the day to pick you up, he was always smiling and he never failed to say hello and ask how I was doing.  Such a sweet man.  And it was so obvious how much he loved you. There is nothing I can say to ease your pain, except that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  And, Joyce, please know you have a friend that is here for you if you need anything or just want to talk.  Doesn't matter how much time has passed. Joyce,I truly enjoyed workig  with you and seeing your wonderful husband at the end of a long day.  Call or I will call you soon. Take Care.

It was a joy and honor getting to know Clay over the last few years.  His infectious smile, kind and pure heart, and love of life are contagious.  He was an angel on earth during his time here and he will be missed dearly.

Joyce, I haven't seen you or Clay in years and no idea he was sick. I just saw this in the paper today. I am so sorry for your loss. Craig and I STILL talk about the strength of you and Clay's marriage....and how it was an example of TRUE LOVE. Everytime we saw you over the last 15 years we would walk away and talk about how happy you guys were. My goodness....I don't know what to say. I am so sorry I wasn't there at the funeral to comfort you. You are in my heart right now.

I remember my time at Franklin Press so fondly. You and Clay are so much a part of those wonderful memories. My time in Baton Rouge was one of the happiest in my life. It's hard to believe that was 30 years ago  and Clay is gone.
Joyce, he loved you very much. Every time I picture the two of you together, I smile. So glad you had 30+ years to be with him.

Clay was one of our treasured customers at Rue Beignet.  We always looked forward to feeding him beignets and visiting with him and listening to his stories.  Such a kind man and he will be missed. God Bless you and Keep you in this time of grief.  But remember there is the Promise of Eternity and being reunited with those who have gone before us and wait on us. I am not able to attend due to working out of town, but Jane is planning on being there tomorrow. She and I will keep you and the family in our prayers. The IHS Class of 1957 will miss Clay and we will miss him telling some 'old stories' at Drusilla lunches.

So sorry to hear about C. M.'s death.  I went all through high school with him and he was a great guy--very fun loving and happy.  Last saw him at our 50th IHS class reunion in 2007.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of his friends and family at this time.

He was a wonderful person with a big heart. His face was so kind and his words were so gentle. He will be missed greatly!!

He said you needed people on your team that smiled all the time. I would always joke with Joyce about how I was going to marry Clay.  He was and still is the idea husband. I've only known him a short while, but it has truly been an honor to have met Clay and to feel I have been a part of his family.

Clay was a great friend, a dedicated and loving husband and father and a remarkable grandfather.  We have missed seeing him during his illness and our loss is now permanent but we are richer for having known him.
