A very loving son and a devoted father, he will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Born May 25, 1970, in Warner Robins, Ga., to Randy Gomez and Shirley Cornman Gomez, Chris passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident. Chris attended St. George School from kindergarten through eighth grade, Catholic High School during his freshman year and graduated from Bishop Sullivan High School in 1989. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country proudly for 6"° years and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. After being honorably discharged from the military as an E4, he moved to Anoka, Minn., and returned to Baton Rouge in 2001. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by two beloved sons, Jakob and Hunter Gomez of Apple Valley, Minn.; two sisters, Charme Gomez of Port Allen and Carrie Gomez of Watson; brother, Carlos Gomez of Baton Rouge; his son's mother, Sherry Burns of Apple Valley; and maternal grandmother, Betty Cornman of Warner Robins. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edmond and Eve Anna Gomez; and maternal grandfather, Merlin Cornman. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, May 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. J.J. Judge and the Rev. Tommy Jackson. Interment with military honors at Port Hudson National Cemetery.
