Charles Donald Morgan, Jr. passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home. He was 88 years old, a native of the Central community and a resident of Baton Rouge. He is a graduate of Northwestern State College, Natchitoches LA, and spent 4 ½ years on active duty with the US Army Chemical Corps. He retired from McKesson Chemical Co/Van Waters and Rogers, Inc. a subsidiary of Univar, with 37 ½ years of service as an Admin/Operations Manager, and Industrial Chemical Sales Account Executive. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023 starting at 9:30 am until religious services begin at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, LA. He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Moore Morgan and former wife, Shirley Hays Morgan. He is survived by son, Alan Hays Morgan and daughter in law, Eva Smith Morgan, Pasadena TX; two step-sons, Sidney R Peavy, Baton Rouge, and Donald R Peavy and daughter-in law, Melissa Vallet Peavy, Prairieville LA.; a brother, Robert Moore Morgan and sister in law, Joyce Calwell Morgan, Lexington, KY; 5 grandchildren, Suzanne Morgan, Mary Kathryn Morgan, and Charles Alan Morgan, Pasadena TX, and Graham E Peavy and Rachel E Peavy, both of Prairieville, LA; three nieces, Kimberly Morgan-Jenkins Clifton, Dallas, TX, Pamela Morgan-Jenkins Smith, Chandler, AZ, Heidi Jones and daughter Morgan Jones, Brownsville, TX; two nephews, Phillip S Morgan and Paul Mann, both of Lexington KY. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver, Renea Dawson. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
