Charles B. Lacey "Brad", a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 74. He was a native of New Holland, Georgia and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Brad had many hobbies, but his favorites were his music, riding horses and working at "the barn", golf, and spending time with his family that he loved so much. His love of helping people led him to a lifelong career in retail sales and management. Later in his career, his passion for people led him to Greenoaks Memorial Park as a family services counselor and community service representative. During his tenure at Greenoaks, he helped many families through trying and difficult times. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn C. Lacey; daughter, Lynda Singleton Williams; grandsons, Cory Singleton and his wife Taylor, Stephen Singleton; brother, Ted Lacey of Gainesville, Georgia; and his dogs, Little Man and Sparky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Otis Lacey; sister, Becky Perkle; and various aunts and uncles who helped raise him. On Wednesday, June 10, from 4 - 8 p.m., we will be having a Celebration of Brad’s life in the form of a Farewell Party at the Life Celebration Reception Center at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park. It is our hope to be able to celebrate this larger than life man, who loved people, laughter and life, by sharing memories and laughs with those who knew him. Join us, have a bite to eat (his favorite thing to do), and share your memories with us. We would love to see you there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice, Yelp! Baton Rouge or Friends of the Animals. Please feel free to share your memories of Brad at www.greenoaksfunerals.com.
