President and CEO of Charles Carter and Company and Charles Robert Carter Properites Inc., he died at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 82, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Breaux Bridge. He was an Air Force veteran. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, June 15, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon. He is survived by two daughters, Christine Carter Kean and husband Tyler, and Caroline Victoria Carter; two sons, Rennie Watson Carter and wife deSha Caldwell Carter, and Charles Carter II; and four grandchildren, James Teed Kean, John Carter Kean, Charles Jackson Kean and Caldwell Christine Carter. Preceded in death by his mother, Ella Patin Carter; and father, Charles Carter. Pallbearers will be Daniel Landry, Robert Toups, Ernest Green, Brad Kilshaw, John Tyner, William Messersmith, Richard Atkins and Roy Maughan Jr. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and LSU. He was national vice president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Baton Rouge Boy Scouts of America, past president of LeCircle de Bacchus and president of the Multiple Schlerosis Foundation.
