God wanted another Angel in heaven. Cathryn Leigh Arceneaux has left us way too early at the age of 41. Throughout her earthly years, Cathryn’s goal was to make others happy. To know her was to love her. Her bubbly, cheerful personality will be missed by many. She was selfless and never met a stranger. Cathryn always made sure others were taken care of before herself and would give you the shirt off her back. If Cathryn had ever been a presence in your life, she would never be forgotten.
She is survived by her best friend and mother, Cheryl Manfre Arceneaux, her father, Cornel John Arceneaux, her sister, Candace Arceneaux LaPlace (Stuart Michael LaPlace), her brother, Chandler Patrick Arceneaux (Natalie Parbhoo), her nieces Ella Arceneaux, Caroline Starns, Katelin Starns, Arlington LaPlace, Amelia LaPlace, and Hayes LaPlace and her fur baby Danks.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marcella Gros Manfre, her maternal grandfather, Angelo Raymond Manfre, her paternal grandmother, Frances Callegan Arceneaux, and her paternal grandfather, Patrick Noah Arceneaux. Buddy and Bailey Arceneaux are running to her in heaven with wagging tails.
Cathryn was a native of Baton Rouge Louisiana. She attended elementary school at St. Aloysius. Her high school years were spent at the Dunham school where she played on the first ever varsity volleyball team for 4 years. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in fashion merchandising. She opened Stabs and worked there for 6 years where she developed close relationships with so many. She loved her work family as much as they loved her and her absence is felt.
Cathryn had a passion for all things fashion and art, she raved about her mom and dads cooking, she loved to travel and she had a deep love for family and friends. She loved Bailey, Buddy, Danks, Baxter and Barkley, her precious fur babies. Cathryn had so much energy, so much life and so much ambition. When she entered a room her presence was always known and felt. She was blessed with the ability to make everyone always feel comfortable with themselves and she had the best laugh. Cathryn loved to play pranks and if you were ever the recipient of one in your life, consider yourself lucky. Cathryn was an Angel on earth and is now an Angel in heaven. While we are left broken we know she is whole and dancing and laughing with her family in heaven.
Visitation will take place at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street on September 19, 2023 from 4 PM till 7 PM
