Catherine Wohlert died peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, of complications from a fall. She was surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was retired from the State of Louisiana House of Representatives, after almost 30 years. Catherine helped a lot of people over the years, and her family and friends were her priority in life. She devoted her life not only to her job, but to raising and loving her three children. Catherine was a one-of-a-kind person, and once she counted you as a friend, she never let you go. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Wohlert; and by her second husband, Ory Gueho, with whom she reconnected after Katrina destroyed her home near Gulfport and sent her back to Baton Rouge. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Martha Blasco Didier; by her nephew, Jeff Nola; and by her parents, Santo Blasco and Rose Graphia Blasco. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Arnof (Dave); son, Jimmy Wohlert (Donna); and son Greg Wohlert (Tori). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Aimee Jones, Jamie Bourque (Brent), Ashlee Bianchini (Michael), and Christopher Wohlert; as well as several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Nola (Mike), and several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 12:30pm until funeral service at 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2250 Main Street. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street.
