A resident of Baton Rougeand a native ofOxford, Miss., she died Sunday evening, Dec. 24, 2006, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 90. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home chapel, 825 Government St., from 11:30 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 28, until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment inGreenoaksMemorial Park. She is survived by two sons, Tommy Simmons and wife Donnie of Denham Springs, and Rick Simmons of Baton Rouge; a sister, Gloria Lee of Oxford; two grandchildren, Rhonda Simmons of Denham Springs and Kathy Cobb of New Orleans; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley, ofBoise, Idaho. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Perry E Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Dick Prestridge, Bill Mathews, Rock Reed, Frank McPherson, Bill Coxe and Bill Cathey. She was a longtime member ofGraceBaptistChurch.
