Catherine Salemi Rinaudo, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday April 15, 2023 at age 90. She was born in Marrero, LA. to parents Benjamin and Rose Paternostro Salemi, raised in Baton Rouge, LA., and has been a resident of St. Francisville, LA. since 1954. She was a proud graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Cosmetology School of New York. Catherine was a devout Catholic who leaves behind a great legacy of faith and love of family. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, OLOMC Ladies Altar Society, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She had a strong but gentle spirit and provided love unconditionally. She was a kind and selfless person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was an amazing cook and relished all family occasions. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her son, Ricky Rinaudo and wife Rose, daughter, Debra Rinaudo Wethey and husband Arnold, son, Randall Rinaudo and wife Polly, grandchildren Ashley Wethey, Kyle Wethey (Sarah), Ariel DeVille Harrison (Casey), Bradley Rinaudo (Lexi), Stewart DeVille, Caroline Wethey Gasquet (Daniel), Nicole Rinaudo Fahrig (Cameron), Brandon Rinaudo, Olivia DeVille, and Thomas Rinaudo, great-grandchildren Catherine Gasquet and Julia Rinaudo, and sister Antoinette Salemi Jones. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph Rinaudo, Jr., daughter, Michelle Rinaudo DeVille (Donald), an infant grandson, sister, Lorraine Salemi LaFleur (Rohan), niece, Jennifer LaFleur, and brother-in-law, Edward Jones. Pallbearers for the services will be Kyle Wethey, Bradley Rinaudo, Stewart DeVille, Brandon Rinaudo, Thomas Rinaudo, Mark Jones, Kevin Jones, and Scott LaFleur. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael LaFleur and David Lamana. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in St. Francisville on Friday April 21, 2023 from 9:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Doyle, celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mausoleum.
