Carolyn Bergeron Talbot passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, November 26 at the age of 97. Born July 4, 1926 in Baton Rouge to Louis Allen and Julia Bergeron, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Talbot, her parents and her brother Allen Bergeron, Jr. (Sis). She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Macaluso (Joe) and their sons Joey (Robin) and Chris (Katie), son LG Talbot (Christina) and their sons Jacob (Kristen) and David (Molly), son Ken Talbot (Tara) and their sons Kenneth and Carl and daughter Debbie Talbot. Carolyn spent the last 60 years devoted to her family, friends and church parish. She was affectionately known as "Gran" by her six grandsons and 12 great grandchildren. She was very devoted to them. At every wedding and birth, Gran would crochet beautiful afghans which will now be cherished in her memory. Her six grandsons will be the pallbearers for her funeral per her specific wish. She was a graduate of Our Lady of the lake nursing school in 1942 and was a charter member of St. Thomas More Parish where her children, some grandchildren and great grandchildren attended school. She faithfully served as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister for the church and was a fixture in the third pew from the front nearest the side door. She was also was a member of the STM alter society, Catholic Daughters and Singles group. Special thanks to family and friends for your devotion to her, especially Laura Farris, the staff at Holly Court Assisted Living, Clarity Hospice and her private sitters Jackie, Josie and Betty and the Crossings Hospital staff who were so supportive of her in her final days. Carolyn was an avid LSU sports fan with season tickets to football and basketball games, even during the Curley Hallman years. She often joked, despite the team’s success, she avoided baseball games for the sake of the other fans because her attendance was sure to lead to extra innings. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30th from 11:30am - 1pm with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 1pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
