Carol Charles “Coach Carol” Lyons a native of Church Pointe and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his residence at the age of 73. He retired from Petrin Corporation. Carol was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, served as an usher and was a member of The Backers Club while his children attended Glen Oaks High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Corris “Pa Pop” Lyons.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Mire Lyons; his mother, Bertha Lyons; four sons, Wade Lyons, Scottie Lyons and his wife Gina, Craig Lyons and his wife Heather and Curt Lyons and his wife Chara; two sisters, Patsy Smith and Tammy Walters and her husband James; his brother, John Kent Lyons and his wife Gretchen; eight grandchildren, Brooke Anslem, Morgan Toups, Chase Blum, Seth Lyons, Brandon Lara, Brennan Lyons, Brittan Lyons and Austin Lyons; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Lyons, Remington Lyons, Bennett Lyons, Colt Lyons, Kaizley Anslem and Kambrie Anslem; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, La. 70815 on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 8 am until the funeral service begins at 10am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
