Carl W. Gremillion, III passed away on May 18, 2015 at the age of 32. His favorite things in life were laughing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a diehard LSU fan who loved to play Frisbee golf and, of course, to eat. He could eat us out of house and home and then would ask “what's for dessert?” The time Carl spent preparing for each day of his life gave him not only immaculate hair, but always pressed clothes and an alluring smell. And those are only a fraction of the reasons we all love him. Because more than anything else, we love him for his heart. His immense physique and love of food could never come close to the size of his heart. Survived and loved by his father, Carl Gremillion, Jr; mother and step father, Cindy Jeffcoat Campbell and Johnny Campbell; sister, Amber Gremillion and fiancé, Akheil Shah; step sister, Jill Campbell Penn and husband, Wes; niece and nephew, Jackson and Madeline Penn; maternal grandmother, Barbara Jeffcoat; paternal grandmother, Dolores Gremillion Daigle and husband, Melvin; beloved pets, Samson (his Bubba) and Sadie Mae; his loving second Moms, Mischa Laird and Shelley Simmons; aunts and uncles, Riley Jeffcoat II, Anne and Warren Virgets (godparents), Jeanne’ and Tim Hanegan, Melanie and Morgan Cryar and Angela Armoney; and numerous cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Gremillion Sr and Thomas Jeffcoat, and cousin, Riley Jeffcoat III. Although the hole in our hearts will never be filled, we will always have the memories of Carl’s big heart, smiling face, and infectious personality. He will be forever missed. “…If he burns brightly before he dies, his brightness shines for all time.”-- Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, May 23, 2015, from 10 AM until funeral service at 2 PM. Please think of your fondest memories of Carl to share at his visitation.
