Charles “Warren” Beard, 70, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Saturday May 8, 2010. He was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed. Warren served in the United States Navy and was a retired Deputy Sheriff for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office with over 37 years of service. He was an avid hunter and always enjoyed a good book. He was Past Master and life member of the Fairfields Mason Lodge #425; a member of the NRA and a longtime member of Cedarcrest Baptist Church. Warren is survived by his wife of 44 years Mavis Simmons Beard; son Darryl Warren Beard and wife Sherry Kairdolf Beard; three brothers: Willard, Richard and Don Beard; and aunt Fannie Starns. Warren is preceded in death by his parents Charles Webb Beard and Alma Starns Beard. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday May 10, 2010 from 5PM until 9PM and continuing on Tuesday May 11, 2010 from 12PM until time of services at 2PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
