2 Timothy 4:7-I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Billy Ray Tam, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 76. Billy was a retired neon sign glass tube bender and also a talented musician having played the pedal steel guitar for 63 years. He loved cooking, always creating new recipes, and grilling, calling himself the grill master. He enjoyed music, spending time with his fellow musicians, reading and LSU sports. Billy was known for keeping everyone laughing with his wonderful wit and sense of humor. Most importantly, he was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all. Billy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Christine Miceli Tam; mother, Margie Tam; daughter, Angela Tam; son, Andrew Tam (Karina Ruiz); sister, Deborah Tam Shivers (Ronnie) of Bassfield, MS; sister-in-law, Claire Miceli; aunts, Mary Tam, Doris Harper; his buddy, Adam (Karina’s son), several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog, Harper. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Tam; father-in-law, Angelo Miceli; mother-in-law, Stella Miceli; sister-in-law, Genevieve Nealy and brothers-in-law, Dr. Wren Nealy, Joseph Miceli and A. J. Miceli. A celebration of life will be held for Billy at a future time. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Steel Guitar Forum, LLC or any charity of your choice.
