Beverly Samson Godwin, was born August 18th, 1932, a former resident of Baton Rouge and resident of Denham Springs, passed away Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at her home in Denham Springs. Beverly had a love for her family and for animals, she enjoyed fishing in Grande Isle and False River with her family. Beverly was one of the original organizers of the “Old Timers” reunion, reuniting motorcycle friends from her youth. She also had a talent for all movie and television trivia. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Karen DiBenedetto White and husband Michael, two grand-daughters, Lindsey DiBendetto Winter and husband Tim and Megan DiBenedetto, three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Addie and Silas Winter; sister Wanda Polozola and brother, Hurst “Bud” and sister in law, Nikki Samson. Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Earl” Godwin and parents, Morris and Emma Hurst Samson. Pallbearers will be; Michael White, Tim Winter, Phil DiBendetto, Tom Pipps, Darrell Porter and John Rabalais. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge on Wedensday, February 12th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Thursday, February 13th, from 10:00am til religious service at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family will like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Beverly’s caretakers; Rachel Grevious, Lisa Rodney and Jackie Pruitt.
