Betty Porter Crouch, longtime resident of the Baton Rouge Area and native of Pearl River, LA, went to be with her Lord while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 19, 2015 after 79 blessed years of life. Miss Betty, or Maw Maw as so many knew her, was a gifted musician and singer who loved sharing her musical talent and other crafty abilities with others. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School and proudly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sacred Music from LSU. Miss Betty was the organist and soloist at numerous churches in the Baton Rouge Area. She was active in church activities and enjoyed worshiping at Crosspoint Baptist Church. Miss Betty was a well-known prayer warrior, and would find comfort and support in the name of the Lord for herself and everyone she loved. She was a volunteer for the Homemaker’s Club in Walker, a proud member of the Baton Rouge Music Club, and was known in her neighborhood as the only Grandma that played Nintendo with the kids. Miss Betty was a faithful Christian and her family will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Cecile Porter; and siblings, Louis Porter, Ellen Dunaway, and Pam Allman. Betty is survived by her husband of 42 years, Henry W. Crouch; children, Lani Carter Dupuis and husband Joseph, Jim H. Carter and wife Julie, Mari Crouch Holland and husband Cliff, and Lynda Crouch Peters and husband Terry; grandchildren, Japheth Dupuis, Hannah Dupuis Hayes and husband Jay, Jason Carter, Jeremy Carter, Lida Holland Sullivan and husband Blake, Wade Holland and wife Cassie, Carrie Holland, Anna Peters Wessman and husband Auburn, and Mary Peters; great grandchildren, Gracie Hayes, Connor Sullivan, Ava Wessman, and Andrew Wessman; brother, Charles Porter and wife Carole; and numerous extended family members and friends. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Crosspoint Baptist Church, 14965 Airline Hwy. Baton Rouge, on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
