Beth Wesley Bennett of Baton Rouge, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 30, 2023. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a fun-loving friend to many.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Crum Ash (David), sons Darrell Crum (Cheryl) and Dale Bennett (Becky). She was blessed with grandchildren Shane Ash (Sarah), Dustin Ash (Lyndsey), Derek Crum, Kelsey Crum, Dylan Crum, Madison Crum, Drew Bennett, Jackson Bennett, Casey Sonnier (Chelsea) and great-grandchildren Ava Ash, Zayne Ash, Pierce Ash, Anora Ash, Preston Ash and Tatum Sonnier. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Wesley Thomas, many nieces, nephews, special friend Carroll DiBenedetto and her loyal canine companion, Jessie.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband Elvin Crum, infant son Randall Crum, parents Pearley and Loretta Wesley, sister Wilma Wesley Kowski, brothers Bill, Sidney, Clyde, Bobby and Cecil Wesley.
She retired from the Department of Labor and the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, where she was a school bus driver - a job she truly loved. After retirement, her high school state championship basketball team reunited and competed in the Senior Olympics. They travelled the country together, making many wonderful memories and winning several gold and silver medals along the way. Beth also loved her church and her ladies Sunday School class at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Joseph Hospice and Carpenter House for the wonderful care they provided in her final days.
Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family in celebrating Beth's life at a memorial service on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 9:00 am until services at 11:00 am at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenoaks. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shane Ash, Dustin Ash, Derek Crum, Dylan Crum, Drew Bennett and Jackson Bennett. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Conner. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Greenwell Springs Baptist Church.
