Bessie Mae Easley Blanchard, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the age of 81. She was a native of Easleyville and resident of Denham Springs. Mrs. Blanchard was retired from the State of Louisiana Division of Administration with 26 years of service; was a graduate of Greensburg High School, and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 8:30am until funeral services in the chapel at 10am. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Ernest Lea Blanchard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paige and Ron Higgins, and Suzette and Kenneth Bahlinger; four grandchildren, Carl Higgins, Jackson Higgins, Elizabeth Bahlinger and Phillip Bahlinger; and two brothers, Lester and Willard Easley. Preceded in death by parents, Jimmie and Jewell Easley, and two brothers, James and Elton Easley. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and two brothers. Donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church where along with her husband, Bessie was a longtime member.
