Bentley was born on December 30, 2014 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Becky Silva and Derek Butters, instantly bringing joy into all our lives. Despite Bentley’s medical issues, his precious personality always shined through. Bentley was always happy, constantly smiling, and thoroughly enjoyed playing with friends at school, chasing around his cousin Emmett and sis Breelie and tormenting his big sister, Breanna. He loved playing tag and fishing with the boys. Bentley could spend hours playing video games, and was especially good at Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite and loved when you watched him play his games.
Always a spontaneous child, our outgoing Bentley stood ready to go, always the one asking, “What are we going to do next?!” We believed God guided him into helping us make the most of his short time on earth with us. Bentley stayed full of energy all of the time. His friendliness and passion for life inspires us to live our best life, make the most of what we have, and cherish our loved ones every day.
Our hearts are broken, knowing we cannot see our beloved Bentley on this earth, but our faith assures us that we are sure to see him again one day and oh, what a joyous reunion that will be.
Bentley is survived by his mother, Becky Silva and father, Derek Butters, sister, Breanna Fletcher; grandparents, Robert and Kim Lasseigne, Bejay and Julie Butters, and Tony Silva; aunts and uncles, Tejay and Tori Butters, Grace and Hope Lasseigne; great grandparents, Roy and Carol DeFee, Rodney and Shirley Ezelle; and dearly loved by Chasity and Breelie Smith and many more.
Bentley’s celebration of life will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2nd at 2 pm with visitation starting at 12:00 pm. Burial and reception to follow. Please visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences to the family.
