The world lost a multi-talented entertainer who had a heart of gold on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Barry was age 55, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his spouse, Lita Henderson Ferguson; mother, Margaret Nell Ferguson; daughter, Leslie Ferguson; Grandson, Ian Ferguson; sister, Donna Ferguson Miller and husband Byron, and their daughter Claire Miller; brother, Eddie Ferguson and wife, Kathy; and grandma, Molly F York. His late father was Joe J. Ferguson. He was a compassionate, loving, caring and sentimental man who loved the Lord and knew His word, he read it daily. He was a member of the Baker Baptist Church therefore the services will be officiated by Reverend Don Perkins. Barry was a musician, comedian, composer, master storyteller, and creative genius. He loved his music, his band, his bonsai trees, his parrot, his cats, his family and friends, God, and Lita (not necessarily in that order). He graduated from LSU and like his father he was a big fighting tiger fan. He had a rare, natural talent for telling jokes and stories in any setting. He had the habit of turning any type of gathering into his audience. If you wanted to find him in a crowded room, just follow the sound of the raucous laughter. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, June 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 18, from noon until service at 2 p.m.
