Barbara Pichnic Culotta

Come and share your master's happiness!” Matthew 25:21 Services for Barbara Pichnic Culotta, age 84, of Baton Rouge, LA and Lake Concordia, who died April 7, 2016, at her home, will be Saturday April 9th. Burial will take place at Greenoaks Cemetery under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1:30 PM. Following Graveside Services, the Family will receive friends from 3 PM until a memorial service at 4 PM at Jefferson Baptist Church, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with Pastor David Goza officiating. Mr. Culotta would like to welcome their Lake Concordia and Natchez area friends and neighbors to his residence for a second visitation at 879 Hwy 568, Ferriday Louisiana from 5 PM till 7 PM Tuesday April 12, 2016.Barbara was born in Cameron, LA, and since moving to Baton Rouge with her husband, Joseph Culotta, she worked as a medical technologist and managed medical technology laboratories until retirement at age 73. “Barb,” as she was affectionately called by her husband and friends, was very talented and had many interest. She was an excellent seamstress, artist, knitted Christmas stockings for all her family members, and was renowned for her cooking abilities. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church Ferriday for the last four years. Before that, she was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church and earlier taught Sunday school at First Baptist of Baton Rouge for twenty years. As a civic minded woman, she belonged to several women's organizations including The Quota International of Baton Rouge, PEO, and The Women’s Club of Baton Rouge. Above all, she was devoted to her faith and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joseph Culotta, and their three children and their spouses, Karen Culotta Stubbs and husband, Kenneth, of Lake Concordia, Kenneth Culotta and wife, Catherine, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Kimberly Culotta Stewart, and husband, Nash, of Doha, Qatar. Survivors also include her grandchildren, Nathaniel Stubbs and wife, Jessica, of Natchez, Andrew Stubbs and wife, Ashley, of Madison, Joanna Stubbs Dixon and husband, Billy of Ridgeland, Julian Stubbs of Jackson, Alexander Stewart and wife, Monica, of Baton Rouge, Kathryn Stewart of Guangzhou, China, Abigail Stewart of Baton Rouge, Caroline Stewart of Baton Rouge, Claude Culotta and wife, Meg of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Emily Culotta of Costa Mesa, CA, Annie Culotta of Tempe, Arizona, and Harrison Culotta of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Jack Henry Stubbs and Jordan Stubbs of Natchez, Samantha Dixon of Ridgeland, Bryan Stubbs of Madison, Magnolia Culotta of Apple Valley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers will be Nathaniel Stubbs, Andrew Stubbs, Julian Stubbs, Alexander Stewart, Harrison Culotta, Billy Dixon, Nash Stewart, and Kenneth Stubbs. Honorary pall bearers will be Russell Culotta, James Culotta, Jackie Culotta, and Leonard Culotta. In her personal Bible study of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 Barbara wrote, “Our hearts tell us we are fitted for eternity. The only thing that fits man is eternity. Temporal is meaningless without eternity. There is a God shaped vacuum in our souls.”To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
