Barbara Curtis Archer

Barbara was loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. She graduated from St. Anthony High School and attended LSU. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Jean Vianney Church. Retired from Union Federal, Regions Bank as well as Victoria’s Toy Station where she enjoyed working with the precious children that visited the shop. She loved spending time with family. She was very close to her sons as well as her grandchildren as they were the light of her life. She touched a lot of lives through her kindness and generosity. She loved helping people. Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends. But we take comfort in the fact that she is reunited with her dear husband, Wayne.

She is survived by Son, Jeffrey Wayne Archer and wife Mitzi Plessala Archer of Freeport, FL. Son, Eric Troy Archer and companion Elise Rosato and her daughter Emily Mendoza of Baton Rouge, LA. Grandson, Jack Archer of San Diego, CA. Granddaughter, Samantha Archer Killeen and husband Shane of San Diego, CA. Grandson, James Archer of Baton Rouge, LA. In-laws Don and Mary Ann Blue, Nolan and Gwen Babineaux, and Donnie Helmer, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Aunt Corrine Lemoine. Many cousins who she remained extremely close to, especially Dee Dee Culotta, who she considered to be a sister. Many dear friends, including her Pokeno Club, and her hair stylist and classmate for 12 years, Charlene Doyle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donald Wayne Archer. Father, Thomas Pearly Curtis, Jr. Mother, Frances Lemoine Curtis Grandfather, Thomas Pearly Curtis, Sr. Grandmother, Rena Mae Curtis, Grandfather, Pliney Lemoine, Grandmother, Agnes Lemoine, In-laws, Isadore Paul Sr. and Marion Archer, Brother-in-law Paul Archer, Sister-in-law Jacquelyn Helmer, Niece Melissa Archer, Aunt Shirley Greely Winters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Jean Vianney Church from 9:30-11 AM, followed by Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Internment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements. Officiating the services will be Father Tom Ranzino. Pallbearers include Don Blu, Nolan Babineaux, Donnie Helmer, Mark Culotta, Jack Archer, and James Archer.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their kindness and care.
