Archie H. Browning

Archie H. Browning, age 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born in Deerford, Louisiana on June 1, 1928. He was resident of Central, Louisiana. Archie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. After serving in the Korean War, he worked at Kaiser Aluminum, retiring as a supervisor. After retiring, Archie owed a trucking business. He loved people. He enjoyed traveling and cruising with the “Cruzin Cajuns”. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at his camp at Lake Verret. Archie is survived by his sons Kenneth W. Browning & wife Beverly, Brent E. Browning & wife Michele and daughter, Darla B. Thompson & Tony Smith; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Bates and Carolyn Bond. Archie was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Ruby C. Browning; son, Randy Gerald Browning; father, Edison H. Browning; mother, Margaret White Browning. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 5 pm- 9 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Browning, Jacob Thompson, Johnathan Bachaledia, Neil Sykes, David White and Russel Cavalier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Earl Vicknair, Gary Bond and Gabriel Dale. Arrangements under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA.
