Antonio Daniel Caldwell was born in Baton Rouge on August 7, 2009, and was taken into the arms of Jesus on December 7, 2024. Beginning as a young child, Antonio lived a life of service giving out hugs at nursing homes, honoring veterans and police officers, serving Thanksgiving and Christmas meals at the St. Vincent de Paul dining hall, as well as numerous other service activities as a student of Catholic High School. Antonio excelled in karate which he practiced for many years, ran cross country, played baseball, soccer and was a self-taught chess player winning the first tournament he entered.
He loved the outdoors, regularly spending hours in the woods of St. Francisville sometimes getting lost but always finding his way back. He was an avid student of military history, wars and weaponry, taking a hog on his first wild hog hunt. Aiming high, Antonio set his goal to attend West Point so that he could serve his country. He also enjoyed target shooting, reading and gaming with “his boys”. He couldn’t wait for break time to play games, yelling play by play as they joined forces in their favorite game.
Antonio was a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic School in Baton Rouge and a sophomore at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge making the honor roll several times throughout his schooling.
Antonio was sharp-witted at all times and sharply dressed when the occasion called for it, but preferred his boots, jeans and cowboy hat. He was a good friend, a good student, a great son and grandson, a great brother and above all a pure child of God.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother and “bonus dad”, Emma and Robert Stock; his father and “bonus mother”, Benjamin and Amanda Caldwell; sister, Lillian; grandparents, Teresa “Abuelita” Jimenez, Albert and Carroll Caldwell, Dianne "Maw" Sittig and Judy “Granny” Stock; aunts, Wendy Landry (Barry), Mary Addison (Corey), Flor Jimenez, Amalia Coon, and Maria Elena Jimenez; uncles, Aaron Caldwell (Elizabeth), Eduardo Jimenez and Roberto Jimenez; cousins, MacKenzie, Gavin, Samantha, Killian, Christian, Karoline, Kiara, Daniela, Esteban, Angela, Alex, Shirley, Kasandra, Kiara, Brandon, David, Joseph, Michael, Estercita, Elizabeth, and Bryanna;
