Anna Hoa Nhu Nguyen

Hoa Nhu Nguyen ("Chanel"), age 49, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and close friends on May 1, 2023. Hoa was born in Lam Dong, Vietnam on June 2, 1973, and immigrated to the United States in June of 1991, where her tenacity and tireless work ethic would eventually lead her to become a successful business owner. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, sister, a caring aunt, and a loyal friend.

Hoa's life was dotted with many hardships, but she overcame each adversity with unwavering strength and fortitude, fueled by her absolute faith in God and His plan. Though she was a woman of small stature, she possessed a big personality and an even bigger heart. She endlessly gave to and cared for others and touched everyone she encountered with kindness and generosity. All who knew Hoa were familiar with and inspired by her resilience, selflessness, and her unflinching devotion to her family. She had a passion for cooking and gardening which she generously shared with all loved ones and friends.

Though our hearts are broken, and lives are emptier without her, we are all incredibly grateful for the time we were so fortunate to have had with her- the memories of which we will now carry within us always. Hoa is survived and deeply missed by her husband Van Lai Tran, her two children Jenny and Justin Tran, her older siblings Hien Nguyen (Xuan Nguyen), Kim Nguyen, That Nguyen, Son Nguyen (Lung Nguyen), Binh Nguyen (Tuan Nguyen), Phuong Nguyen (Dung Ngo), and a large extended family both here in the United States and in Vietnam. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In honor of Hoa's life and legacy, her family respectfully asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her name. She would be pleased to know that her memory is being honored by helping others in need. Mass intentions can also be made for the repose of her soul.

Vigil services will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, located at 2305 Choctaw Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70805.
