She is survived by her daughter Francine Russell of Buffalo, Wyoming, son Scott Russell and wife Lisa, Brother Edwin Pinkston and wife Dawn, granddaughters Briana Kent and Madison Kent, nephews Wynn Pinkston and wife Lori, and Joshua Pinkston and wife Kayla, and niece Amy Pinkston Odom and husband Darren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Oren W Russell, and her parents Jesse Orville and Georgia Payne Durham Pinkston.
Ann was a long-time member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where she has served as a choir member, deacon and Sunday School teacher. She also studied at Bible Study Fellowship for many years, was a member of Quota International, and volunteered at Southeast Ministries where she served as Volunteer Coordinator.
Ann attended LSU and trained at Mercy Hospital to become a Medical Technologist. She worked in that profession for 23 years at the original Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and the Pathology Laboratory. In 1982 she began work with her husband, Oren Russell, as a Real Estate Appraiser and eventually obtained the designation of MAI by the Appraisal Institute. They continued that partnership for 22 years, until their retirement.
Ann enjoyed her two careers, but never got the hang of being a housewife (except for the cooking part).
Funeral services will be on Wednesday November 28, 2018, at Broadmoor Baptist Church at 12pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held just prior, 10:30am-12pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
