Anita Cecile Baker Comeaux passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the age of 81. She was a native of Denham Springs, LA, and a long-time resident of both Zachary, LA and Baton Rouge, LA. Anita was an avid bowler, artist, interior decorator and loved to dance. She also enjoyed reading, westerns, especially John Wayne, and Louisiana history. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Thompson Mayeaux and Karen Comeaux Hays and husband, Leroy; sons, Joey Thompson and wife, Betty Ann, Kenny Comeaux and wife, Victoria, Kevin Comeaux and wife, Robin and Jeff Thompson and wife, Dondi; grandchildren, Joey, III, Tiffany, Angela, Sarah, G.P., Jesi, Josh Abel, Misty, Kelsie, Josh Daniel, Kayla, Kristin, Blake and Blaire; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Milton Baker and wife, Florence; her faithful four-legged companion, Komi; numerous other family members; and her special friends, Robyn Buchanan and Barbara Strickland. Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Comeaux, Sr.; parents, Milton and Bessie Baker; sisters, Bernice Thompson and Becky Dunn; father and mother-in-law, Abel and Lanny Comeaux; son-in-law, Gerald Mayeaux, Sr.; and brother-in-law, J. Allen Thompson, Jr. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, May 21, 2018, from 9:00AM until the time of funeral service at 12:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anita’s name to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice, 9191 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, 70810. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Crossing, also Mary and Ursula, who took great care of our mother.
