Alvin "Don" Alford

Alvin "Don" Alford, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the age of 80. He entered in as a Seaman and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was an active member of Jefferson Baptist Church. Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glyndon "Glyn" Brock Alford; children, Debra K. Rodriguez and husband, Jerry, Randy E. Alford and wife, L.A., Donice E. Alford, and Steven Scott Alford and wife, Maddie; grandchildren, Brad Rodriguez, Bryan Rodriguez, Marc Rodriguez, Chris Rodriguez, Kelley Alford, Kristen Alford, and Amanda Snethen. He is preceded in death by his parents and his 5 siblings. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Jefferson Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
