Alberta LeBlanc Braud who was born in Gonzales and raised in Chenal, passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 84. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 11 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon and Earl Babin, Baton Rouge, Joel and Pam Braud, Natchitoches, and Terry and Dawn Braud, Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Jennifer and Spencer Green, Jeffrey Babin, Sean Braud and Alex Braud; and great-grandchild, Coleman Green. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Wheat; brother, Levy LeBlanc; and sisters-in-law, Marie Braud and Audrey Braud. Preceded in death by her husband, Caleb Braud; parents, Leonce Charles "Jack" and Hester LeBlanc; infant son, Barry Braud; son, Chris Braud; brothers, Layton and Sully LeBlanc; and sisters, Vernell Lanoux and Elise Stevens.
