"Albert John Haefner, a native of Cincinnati, OH and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on December 23, 2016 at the age of 93. Albert served as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Air Force during World War II. He then received a PhD from the University of Cincinnati, and retired as a Research Administrator for Ethyl Corporation. He is survived by one son, John A. Haefner and wife Krista of Baton Rouge; four daughters, Dr. Sandra Bigner of Mebane, NC, Pamela Davis and husband Dale of Middlebury, VT, Ann Solar and husband Randy of Baton Rouge, Susan Andries and husband Bryan of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara May Haefner; parents, John and Elsa Haefner; brothers, Robert Haefner and Carl P. Haefner. Albert was an elder of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 9340 Florida Blvd, from 10:00 a.m. until a Memorial Service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
