Agnes Belle Blasi Lamendola died peacefully at Clarity Hospice on May 20, 2024. This kind, loving and beautiful woman was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 21, 1938. Educated in Catholic schools in New Orleans, she graduated from Dominican High School. She entered the Dominican order and graduated from Dominican College. She taught in Catholic schools including Saint Agnes in Baton Rouge and Vanderbilt High in Houma where she was voted the favorite teacher in 1966. Along the way, she earned her Master’s degree from Loyola. After she left the Dominican order and was laicized, she worked in her father’s law office as a legal assistant. Her father persuaded her to go to law school at age 35. After earning her law degree from Loyola, she clerked for judges in New Orleans. She later joined her father‘s law practice. After her husband Joe, joined Eye Medical Center, she left the law practice and helped Joe schedule patients and did notary work for the clinic. Agnes and Joe loved to travel and went to Europe two or three times a year and were proud to be Delta million miler‘s. Joe described her as magnificent and wondered why she married him! She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Blasi, and brothers, Ed and Jim. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Joe Lamendola, stepson, Joseph and wife Evelyn and their three sons, Joseph, Nicholas and John Paul, stepson, Michael and wife Donna and sons Luke, Sam and Sterling, stepdaughter Andrea Lamendola Garner and her husband, Vince. Also survived by her sister-in-law Joy Smith and her children, Lisa Daly and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry(Celeste)and family, sister-in-law Myrt Husband and her children, Steve Husband, Joey Husband (Robin), Robyn Bradford (Robert) and their families and Joy Elyse Husband (Jan), brother-in-law, Stan Lamendola and wife JoAnn and their children, Andre Bergeron (Jan) and Stanley Lamendola. She is survived by her brother, Tom Blasi, and niece, Candace Gary and husband David and their children, Caroline and David, niece Faith Krezalek and husband Martin and their children Amanda and Ashley, nephew Joseph Blasi and wife Wendy and their children Bella and Brando. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Blasi. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 12:00 pm, with visitation from 11:00 am - 12:00pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic church at 445 Marquette Ave Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
