Betty Jo Justice Ellis

Betty Jo Justice Ellis died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospital in Austin, Texas. She was one month shy of her 80th birthday. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ora and James Justice, by her two brothers, Clifford Justice of Waco, and Charles Justice of Temple; by her granddaughter, Veronica Stephens.

Betty Ellis has two surviving siblings. Marceline Casler of Weatherford, and Paul Justice (wife Laverne) of Weatherford, Texas.

Betty was born March 12, 1931 at Nolanville, Texas. She attended school in Melvin, Texas and resided in Melvin and Brady during her youth.

She married Allison Carson Stephens and had three children, Carson Stephens, Alicia Stephens Guffey and Cynthia Stephens Sanders. Carson is married to Jeannette Zett Stephens; Alicia is married to Gattis Guffey.

She married a second time to John Paul Ellis and had one child, Beverly Ellis Cody.

The pallbearers for the funeral will be her grandsons: Manning Guffey of McAllen, Texas; Grey Guffey of Weatherford, Texas, Bryan Sanders of Bastrop, Texas; Tye Sanders of Austin, Texas; Clayton Cody of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Shelby Cody of El Paso, Texas.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 10 am at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas. The interment will immediately follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas.
