William Henry Harbour, age 86, of 2668 Dillons Fork Rd., Fieldale, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, in Eden, NC, where he was born December 24, 1923, a son of the late Hattie Mae Eanes Harbour and Carper Alex Harbour.
Also preceding him in death were his step-mother, Florence Jane Martin Harbour, his wife, Theresa Dillon Harbour, a sister, Eva Wagoner, a brother, Elwood Harbour, and a sister-in-law, Georgia C. Harbour.
He served in Italy and Africa in the U.S. Army during World War II, as a Staff Sergeant of Co. A, 313th Medical Battalion, 88th Division. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, and retired as co-owner of Harbour Brothers Lumber Company in Reidsville, NC, after 35 years.
Surviving are his son, Ricky Gene Harbour, Sr. and his wife Darlene of Reidsville, NC; sisters, Sadie Koger and her husband Jessie of Bassett, and Mary Flippin and her husband Floyd of Vinton; a brother, Robert Harbour and his wife Peggy of Bassett. His three grandchildren Kristin Kaylor and her husband Jeff, Theresa Harbour, and Ricky Harbour Jr. and his wife Kristen, remember him as the most loving grandfather who often spent hours with them at McDonalds or climbing up Pole Bridge Creek Mountain. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren Jaylin and Jackson Kaylor, and Summer Harbour.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Garner, Rev. George Gorman and Evangelist Jeff Kaylor officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett.
