Peggy Williams Oakley

Born in Collinsville March 14, 1943, she was a daughter of the late James Palmer Williams and Vicky Gladys Dillon Williams. She was also preceded in death by her twins, Ann Lee Oakley and Dan Lee Oakley.

Peggy worked at the Martinsville and Henry County Health Department, and helped organize the original Martinsville/Henry County SPCA. She was a charter member of Hope Presbyterian Church and was active in the Presbyterian Women in Church.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert James Oakley, her son, Robert James Oakley II and his wife Tanya Oakley of Martinsville, her granddaughter, Kyleigh Rain Oakley, her sister, Mary Ruth Williams Smith of Collinsville, and her beloved dog Busa.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Hart and Pastor David Gilleran officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Martinsville. The family will receive friends Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home.
