Nancy Emyline Baity Motes, age 86, of 1167 Laurel Lane, Collinsville, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at her home. Born in Alexander County, NC, January 5, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John Baity and Josie Curly Baity.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Albert Ezra Motes, a son, Phillip Wayne Motes, a daughter, Nancy Elaine Wingfield, a grandson, Dawayne Lawson, two brothers Fred Baity and William Baity, and two sisters Dora Bell Billings and Zula Campbell. Nancy was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa M. Gregory and husband, Bobby of Ridgeway, Melinda M. White of Collinsville, three sons, James A. Motes of Norton, John L. Motes of Bassett, Chris M. Motes of Collinsville, two sisters, Lois Gibson and Mary Proctor both of Statesville, NC, a brother, Virgil Baity of Hamptonville, NC, eight grandchildren, Tina Lawson, Jeannine Shipe, Stephanie Roop, Mary Cooper, Linda Heredia, John Motes, Tabatha White, Madison White, and five great-grandchildren, Mykayla Carr, Emyline Shipe, Paisley Roop, David Heredia and Anthony Heredia.
The funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Rev. Bill Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hill Memorial Baptist Church, 2359 Appalachian Dr, Martinsville, VA, 24112. The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Home from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday.
