Miriam Washburn LaPrade

Miriam Elizabeth Washburn LaPrade, 81, of Franklin Health and Rehab Center of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Rehab Center. Miriam was born in Franklin Co on January 8, 1930 to the late Joseph B. Washburn and Gladys Cooper Washburn.

She had worked for many years as an LPN and a private duty nurse for Franklin Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Page Lewis LaPrade, one daughter, Leighta Marie LaPrade, two sisters, Edith W. Laycock and Janice W. Martin, two brothers Gordon B and Joseph B. Washburn and three grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Nicholette LaPrade Jenkins of Collinsville, Rhonda Sue Ikenberry of Boones Mill and Khristian LaPrade Naimo of Abington, two sons, Page Lewis LaPrade, Jr. of Warrenton and Bryan Keith LaPrade of Bassett, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 1:00p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with Rev. J.D. Harmon officiating, interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Ridgeway.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home.
